Retail Sales Associate-Eyewear Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY

The Eyewear Consultant helps the patient choose their perfect eyewear by teaching them about frames, lenses, and lens enhancements. The Eyewear Consultant creates exceptional value in the lives of our patients by delivering exceptional and unforgettable patient service through the ‘We Care’ Service Standards.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

• Greets customers immediately when they enter the optical gallery

• Asks open ended questions to determine the patient’s eyewear style preferences and escorts the customer to the appropriate product based on their lifestyle, prescription, and price needs

• Records and updates frame, eyeglass lens, contact lens, prescription, and insurance information.

• Assists patients with the purchases or re-orders of contact lenses/eyeglasses via telephone, text, or email

• Collects co-pays and payments
• Performs work accurately and thoroughly.
• Identifies situations involving unsatisfied customers and acts quickly for resolution

• Takes pride in the appearance of the optical gallery and shows initiative in keeping the displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized.
• Adheres to merchandising standards and keeps frame boards full.

• Transitions patient to exit window so they can set their yearly appointment

• Protects patients’ rights (HIPPA) by maintaining confidential personal and financial information

• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes

• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• GED or High School Diploma required

• 1 year experience in retail sales

• Previous experience in customer service or retail sales environment

• Current State Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record required
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

• Basic math skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking

• Must be able to lift at least 25lbs

• Perform work with OSHA required PPE, Including COVID19 PPE
